Terrain Generation & Coloring

Procedurally generating stylized landscapes.

This project focused on creating stylized low-polygon images while tackling three main challenges: terrain generation, mesh simplification, and farmland coloring. Terrain generation was done with a noise function that would produce areas of rolling hills, mountains, and water. Mesh simplification was done by sampling points based on how much the terrain was changing at that point and then triangulating between these points. Farmland coloring was done using a mapping to a generated Voronoi diagram.
